Tony Napoletano

President

HIS, BSEE

I grew up in Drexel Hill, PA, and attended Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, followed by Widener University in Chester where I earned my Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.

My journey into the world of hearing care began after a year and a half apprenticeship at my brother Frank's hearing clinic in Lansdowne. I trained intensively, studied the Hearing Instrument Curriculum, and passed all five sections on my first attempt.

When Frank passed away, I decided to purchase the business and buildings from his estate, fully immersing myself into training and eventually acquiring my HIS license two years later.

As president, I am involved in every aspect of patient hearing care, from examination to fitting and delivering thorough follow-up care, either at one of our clinics or within the senior living community. My professional memberships include the Pennsylvania Hearing Healthcare Association, the International Hearing Society, and the Hearing Loss Association of America.

The best part of my job is the patient interaction, and something I’ve found interesting over my time in this industry is the differences between patients. I find women particularly open and honest about their hearing challenges, which allows me to understand their needs deeply and craft solutions. Men might take a bit more encouragement to identify their issues, but once they do, they welcome the relief I can provide by helping them hear as if they were 21 again!

Outside of work, I've recently taken up golf and have managed to cut my score from 141 to 97, and I’m aiming to break 90 soon. I also keep fit by participating in challenges like the RFK Challenge (50 pull-ups and 100 push-ups in 10 minutes), along with extensive core exercises and stretching.

From Touchdowns to Hole-in-Ones: The Impact of Sports on My Mental and Physical Health

Something that I’m passionate about both in and out of the office is the impact that your physical health can have on your mental health and overall well-being. I love playing, watching, and talking about sports wherever I can!

Ping-Pong

I started playing ping-pong when I was a kid. I was only just tall enough to reach the table, but I got pretty good and managed to beat the older kids in the neighborhood when we all played on the front porch in the summer. In a close-knit community like mine, with an average of six kids per household, that confidence boost was life-changing.

That was my first experience of confidence outside of my family; when you’re a kid, you remember a major milestone like that. I’ve been playing ping-pong ever since, and that confidence in my own accomplishments has transferred into my work here.

Football

I moved into playing football in high school. My team won the Philadelphia City Championship and set some records that, according to my coach, nobody had beat in 150 years!

Football was something that really helped me grow up a lot. Seeing the lasting effects of doing my part and making sacrifices for my team helped me mature from an adolescent into an adult.

Golf

I took up golf as an adult in between my busy schedule here, and within my first year I’ve managed to lower my score by around 40 to 45 strokes (in golf it’s a good thing to decrease your score!).

I didn’t expect golf to impact me so much, but I feel like a little kid again, getting into a sport for the first time and getting better through hard work and perseverance. I also get the same social benefit from golf that I did from my high school football team; I always play golf with a lot of people with me.

It may not feel like it in the moment, but smacking a golf ball high, passing the football around, or hitting the ping-pong ball back and forth is far more than just a sport. For me, getting active changed my mindset and my life for the better.
